The Sony Alpha A200 makes use of a special type of battery: NP-FM500H batteries. The camera comes supplied with an original Sony battery, but you might just as well use DSTE batteries, which are more affordable. If you want to be sure your camera never runs out of batteries, take at least a double set of batteries with you wherever you go.
